The Church at River Mills exists FOR CHRIST'S GLORY. We are a church devoted to the expository preaching verse-by-verse through books of the Bible, making disciples, and making Christ known in our community.

What We Believe

•  WE BELIEVE… the entire Bible is inspired by God, without error and is the authority on which we base our faith, conduct and teachings. The Bible is sufficient to teach us all things about God and the way of salvation.
•  WE BELIEVE… in one true God who exists in three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
• WE BELIEVE… Jesus Christ is the perfect Son of God who came to this earth as Savior of the world. Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for our sins.
• WE BELIEVE… salvation is by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone by God's grace alone and for God's glory alone..
• WE BELIEVE… in God's purposes of grace in saving sinners according to His will, good pleasure, and purpose.
• WE BELIEVE… the purpose of salvation is to bring glory to God and bring lost sinners into personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This is all a work of God. Salvation begins by God's drawing through the work of the Holy Spirit causing an individual to cry out in repentance from sin and faith in Jesus Christ.
• WE BELIEVE… Jesus rose from the dead in bodily form and is coming again.
• WE BELIEVE… water baptism is a symbol of the death to sin and resurrection to new life in Christ.  Baptism is by immersion and is for the believer as a testimony to his or her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
• WE BELIEVE… every believer should be in an active relationship with Jesus by obeying God’s Word, yielding to the Holy Spirit, and by being conformed to the image of Christ by the work of the Holy Spirit.
• WE BELIEVE… in the New Testament command to be salt and light to the earth.

The Church at River Mills affirms the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as well as additions from the 1689 2nd London Baptist Confession and the 1853 New Hampshire Confession of Faith. The Church at River Mills also affirms the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy, Danver's Statement on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood, and the Nashville Statement: A Coalition on Biblical Sexuality.

The Church at River Mills is a church plant of First Baptist Church of Athens, AL. We are a in friendly cooperation with the Southern Baptist Convention, Alabama Baptist State Convention, and the Limestone Baptist Association.
